Shock sells, sanity rolls its eyes over,yawns. Normal is boring. In recent social media backlash, outrage over News Channels’s shocking and insensitive coverage, I wonder if we will ever watch a regular story? Will we ever have a contest which does not use the word explosive, dhamaka, or describe any superlative performance with killer instinct,extreme, insane, and similar examples?

People around the world are working at their piece. But are they thinking of making these diverse pieces work together for an unified peace? Because if there is no peace, then each of the individual pieces will not work either. Zero sum game. We’ve reached a stage where a news report about something good and positive will become a breaking news alert instead of it being a way of life.

Recently Indiblogger and ZeeTV got together to promote the launch of ZeeTV’s Zindagi channel which will showcase content from Pakistan via their stories or artistes or short tele films. That really set me thinking about my perceptions about Pakistan. and it led me to think of perceptions that an average Pakistani might have for the regular Indian? So I checked out Pakistan TV content on youtube – debates,chat shows,news etc just to get a sense on what are the common misconceptions the Pakistani people might have about India.
Hasan Nissar,Najam Sethi,Zaid Hamid or shows like Good Morning with Farah and Hazbe Haal caught my attention.It triggered some perceptions of my own and I’m guessing when Pakistani’s hear or see similar content from India it must trigger perceptions. Like the Saas Bahu soaps ,Aaj Tak Parda Fash debates, or the cheesy attention grabbing breaking news from various channels in India.
As we attempt yet another peace process for the umpteenth time, here is a small article which tries to debunk some myths that the regular Paksitanis might have about regular Indians.It gives India’s point of view from a common man’s perspective.
